The Garden Reworks (October 2026, Crammed Discs/PIAS) takes Amatorski's instrumental track The Garden, from their latest album Curves and Bends, Things Veer, as the starting point for a series of newly created reworks by Liew Niyomkarn, Kate Carr, Theo Nugraha, Pantea and Ki Oni. Inspired by a visit to Derek Jarman's garden, his film The Garden, and his diaries Modern Nature, the track, album and accompanying performance explore listening with garden spaces, considering them within a broader sounding environment of human and more-than-human encounters that shape not only the garden itself but also its surrounding environments and communities. The evolving performance explores The Garden through field recordings, interviews, song, and reworkings of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons.
Amatorski, founded in 2007 by Inne Eysermans, expands the possibilities of song through explorations of sound and environment in both composition and performance. From their acclaimed early releases to the 2024 album Curves and Bends, Things Veer, the project has maintained a process-driven practice and research trajectory that blurs the boundaries between song, sound, and its surroundings.
