For XMTR, Neutrinowatch presents a performance of our upcoming episode “The Garden”.
In this looping, meditative piece, our narrator visits their garden every day, enjoying and commenting on his growing plants. When the plants mature, he collects their seeds; when needs more seeds, he visits his neighbours. Sometimes, a plant dies; less often, a neighbour dies. The location is based on the neighborhood Jeff lived in when he was 19, and has personal significance to him. The piece is about living an alternate version of your life, one that’s focused only on the goings-on of your garden, your mailbox, and your neighborhood.
For this live performance, Jeff Emtman will perform the role of The Narrator, reading scripts generated by the procedural plant-and-neighbor growing algorithm co-developed by Emtman and his collaborator, Martin Austwick. Austwick will create live music which responds to the weather, mood, growth and death happening in The Garden.
Neutrinowatch is a procedural podcast created by Emtman and Austwick. Every episode regenerates itself and changes every day. The podcast is created from a set of monologues, dialogues, audio elements and construction rules written by the show’s creators - it does not use Generative AI or LLMs to create its scripts.
