A creative children's workshop headed by narrative sound artist Will Gore [Delphis Studios] in which you are both the story tellers and main character journeying through a sonic landscape of our own creation.
Using just our voices, simple objects and instruments we layer up a sonic universe in surround sound. From waves crashing on an infinite shore, to an echoey ravine, a gurgling swamp or a giant supermarket - following our curiosity alone we will craft our own journey, workshopping questions, motivations and collectively devising simple story arcs that will transport us through 3-4 unique sonic environments.

About the Workshop Contributors
Will Gore (workshop lead)
Will is creator of Delphis Studios - an immersive audio-comic featuring a fictional creative agency as they work on their projects. Arts Council funded, Will has participated in residencies with Noods Radio, London's Voices Radio and Resonance FM, and presented work at XMTR Festival 2024 & ‘25.
Poppy Keating
Poppy is a freelance Artist Educator and Project Manager working in schools, galleries, care settings and other community spaces. Informed by radical pedagogy, play work and their background in sculpture, they have extensive experience with people with SEN/D, and are especially interested in anti-ableist practices.
Tom O'Driscoll
Tom is a film producer and musician with experience working with children in mainstream and SEN/D schools. Tom has previously collaborated with Will on Delphis Studios, and the development of other creative projects.
Esme Curtis
Esme is a costume maker for film (House of Dragons, Elden Ring) and promotes sustainable textiles through her pattern enterprise Pinto Patterns. She has collaborated with Will on Delphis Studios, as well as exhibited work at XMTR Festival 2024 & 25.
Ella Berny
Ella is a writer who likes to use creative practice to play with academic form. Her PhD research looks at the limits and possibilities of storytelling in feminist praxis, and questions the politically transgressive potential of ‘speaking out’. She is part of Subtexts, a creative writing collective aimed at centring voices and practices in the margins. She has run workshops and mentored on storytelling and creative writing. Her work can be found in Feminist Legal Studies, Feminist Review, Medicine Access @ Point of Care, t’ART & others.
Zoë Carvalho Morris
Zoë is a Brazilian-British theatre director and facilitator based in London, currently working with the Almeida Theatre, Old Vic, Orange Tree Theatre and Longfield Hall.
Practicalities
This event is for 8-12 year olds and drop off is preferable due to limited capacity in the room. If parents and carers wish to stay and observe, you will need to book an 'Add on' ticket so that we can manage numbers in the room.
Please arrive from 10:15am for a 10:30am start at the Benbow Arts Space's main entrance on London Road.
