A live performance for solo voice and machines, Soft Tissue combines music, text and sound composition, moving through shifting registers of speech like a stream-of-consciousness. Based on diaristic writing, research into neurology, pop culture references and extended vocal techniques, it explores inner language, mind games and emotional states. The piece unfolds as a continuous interplay of singing, electronics and spoken language, moving between scripted material and improvisation. Originally composed for recording, Soft Tissue premieres here in its live version for the festival.
Chloe Turpin is a sound artist and producer, based in London. Her audio work is rooted in a sensual relationship to voice and text, exploring moods and emotional textures of language. Working across essay, documentary, sound art and performance, she investigates storytelling as a psychological space circling questions of truth, authorship and representation. She has exhibited and performed across the UK, Europe and Canada. Her recent audio documentary Fille du pays was selected for the 8th edition of the documentary festival Les Yeux Ouverts in Paris (2026). She recently founded the label and imprint Triebland, dedicated to releasing music and experimental audio works.
