Calling all selkies, dowsers, sirens and Poseidon worshippers, safe + sound are back on the XMTR beach bringing you a collection of short audio pieces on the theme of THE SEA.
We will have a selection of audio delights between 1 minute and 7 minutes, but this year there is a TWIST. You must be at least partially submerged in water in order to listen to them.
So, bring your swimming costumes, or at the very least shoes and socks you can take off easily to paddle! Lifeguards and audio curators Kit Callin and Jesse Lawson will be there supplying audio, and spare towels and hot drinks for your post audio drying and decompression.
safe + sound always operates as a fundraiser - we'll be selling some sweet merch to raise money for organisations supporting migrants and refugees who cross the English Channel in small boats.
safe + sound is an audio collective formed by audio producers Kit Callin (Bristol/Isle of Man) and Jesse Lawson (London). They run sonic open mic nights, lead workshops on audio making, and install immersive sound experiences at festivals.
If you have any audio work that relates to water / the sea / wetness / waves and would like to be included in the installation, email safe +sound at safesoundshow (at) gmail (dot)com (Deadline 15th September)
