Audio Flux is a home for adventurous audio and bold storytelling. Twice a year we invite anyone/everyone to create three-minute “fluxworks” inspired by a set of prompts and designed with a different creative partner each time. For Circuit 06 we worked with XMTR to identify a local creative partner and had the great fortune to be introduced to the Hastings-based artist, educator and rock star knitter Lorna Hamilton-Brown. The theme for this circuit, inspired by Lorna’s practice (and specifically her Tension Birds project) is Creative Tension.

After the deadline for the open call, the Audio Flux team will winnow submissions down to twelve finalists. Then John DeLore and Julie Shapiro, joined by Lorna Hamilton-Brown, will announce these finalists at a unique XMTR listening session, during which festival attendees will hear all twelve fluxworks and vote* for four submissions to be crowned as 06 Circuit Selects. The collective XMTR vote will be included in Audio Flux's final decisions, and the four winners will be announced in November at the Resonate Podcast Festival.
